We are living in a world where we are always looking out for inspiration, motivation and heroes who we can look up to. We look up to celebrities, businessmen and sports personalities in search for our hero. Sometimes though, these heroes are very close to us but we fail to see them and recognise them. Meet, Mrs. Roshan Motani, an 80 year old resident of Versova, a hero and a true source of inspiration.
‘Age is just a number’ might be a clichéd saying but Motani aunty fits it perfectly. An old woman who works tirelessly at the age of 80 and strives to be self-sustaining and independent. Having many years of experience, she has mastered the art of making achaar, chunda and murabba. These delicious and hygienic, pickles and preserves are made even more flavoursome by the love and hard work put in by the old lady in making them.
Alone and 80, Motani aunty does get help from her daughter in picking up the raw materials. Her daughter who stays some 50 kms away, makes time and puts in the effort to help out her old mother and be there for her. So once you know the story of these two hard working women, I’m sure what you order from them will taste that little better, knowing that you are helping an old woman, who refuses alms, be independent.
Motani aunty hygienically prepares all of these, which are then packed neatly into bottles of 250 gms, 500 gms and 1 kg and are ready for delivery.
