WOW Woman – Sujata Goenka

Everyone has hardships they encounter in their lives, but when someone is able to overcome all of the additional hardships and survive and conquer mega success, that is an amazing thing to behold.

It takes a lot of strength and a complete no-fear attitude to go the extra mile and be highly successful and BE THE CHANGE. Our WOW Woman Sujata Goenka is the epitome of a woman whose sheer grit, guts gave her the glory. She has made a remarkable change not only for her own life but has been a source of inspiration for others too.


A Big Salute to our WOW Woman for making a difference to humanity and continuing the work with unstinted diligence.

What do you consider the main achievements in your life?

I wanted to make a Difference in the lives of the disabled. Creating an awareness and fighting for the rights of equality was my prime focus. I was a part of the movement for disability rights and core group which formed the rights. 

What qualities do Women need to imbibe within themselves to be more Empowered and successful in life?

Confidence and a belief that you are complete. Leave behind social stigmas and have a vision. Do something different and BE THE CHANGE.

What drives you to be at the Top of your Game? What are your success strategies?

Actually I just acted on my beliefs and did not let others influence me. 

Have you dealt with failure? If so, how did you overcome it and resurge when all the chips were down?

Meditation and my friends and grandma (my Nani) were my pillars. I still get unconditional support from them.

It is important for us to recognize the power of men in supporting women. Is there a man who has played an instrumental role in your personal growth and success? Who are they and how did they influence you?

I was rejected by the men in my family, as disability was shunned. But their attitude managed to give me more power to change things for a better society.  

Which 3 Indian women have inspired you in your life and why?



My Nani, Sister Cyril from Loreto House 

Sister Cyril showed me what I could achieve and pushed me on while my grandmother encouraged me to follow my dreams despite all opposition.

Which causes related to Women would you like to support?

Pinkishe and Kamala Basins Jagori.

Be confident what you project is how the world will treat you.

Gain economic independence

Make yourself emotionally strong and you will win every battle.
