What do you consider the main achievements in your life?
Over the years, my main achievements have been the poise and the patience (besides the material accomplishments) with which I can handle any situation. I feel blessed with the respect I have earned from absolute strangers who respect me, follow my work and write to me. It’s an honour to be their mentor and guiding force.
What qualities do Women need to imbibe within themselves to be more Empowered and successful in life?
Women need to realize that their strength comes from within. They don’t need any external driving force. To be successful, one needs 3 C’s – Communication, Co-operation and Co-ordination. If you juxtapose the three with ease, success kisses your feet/
What drives you to be at the Top of your Game? What are your success strategies?
I always endeavored to reinvent and revamp myself. My style and my content always have been my priority to stay at the top. If you remain the same forever, your life and career becomes monotonous.
In a nutshell, my success strategy is to ‘Reawaken my inner divine and a shout-out to my soul to accept and embrace “change” and create something out-of-the-box. Spirituality and meditation has helped me a great deal in achieving this goal.
Have you dealt with failure? If so, how did you overcome it and re-surge when all the chips were down?
Well, in this called game called LIFE, failure is an integral part. What goes up, comes down too. You can bounce back with much gusto if you have the will to succeed. Yes, I have had my share of downs too. When I moved to Bombay, everything was working against me. But with patience, faith and my determination I changed the game plan to success.
It is important for us to recognize the power of men in supporting women. Is there a man who has played an instrumental role in your personal growth and success? Who are they and how did they influence you?
Absolutely God created Woman from the ribs of man as the Bible says. Men help to shape the person you are today. You may have some bitter experiences when they abandon you or the good ones with their unconditional love and encouragement leave a mark on your life.
For me it was my dad who started supporting me in my later years and my first boyfriend.
Which Indian women have inspired you in your life and why?
First and foremost, my mother, the strongest woman I have ever seen, holding the fort with her tensile strength when dad was away in military fighting the border second again my mother
I would surely nominate MYSELF too as being my own inspiration. I have drawn inspiration from the Divine within. Whenever I fell, I got up and dusted the rags of my dignity and moved on with a fresh renewed confidence. I never look for support from outside, I am my biggest strength, my biggest foe and critic and obviously my own best friend.
Which causes related to Women would you like to support?
Education, female infanticide which is still very common. Another cause, I want to target is eve teasing which exists eve in the highest of societies. With folded hands, please let us WOMAN be what we are. Don’t judge us for what we say, what we wear or how we behave.
