Your motto for Women Empowerment

A WOMAN IS LIKE A TEA BAG, YOU CAN’T TELL HOW STRONG SHE IS UNTIL YOU PUT HER IN HOT WATER.

What do you consider the main achievements in your life?

My main achievements would be the ability to learn from every phase which life has unfolded for me. I have dealt with it with a passion and continued to stay true to myself. When life throws lemons make a cocktail and be high on life…this adage somehow holds truth for me.

What qualities do Women need to imbibe within themselves to be more Empowered and successful in life?

Women should believe in themselves. God has blessed us all with immense inner strength and intuition. Let no one tell you not even yourself that it’s not there and like all human beings we have our real selves hidden down there somewhere. It’s up to you to find it nourish it. The worldly paths will come up along the journey.  Take the first step first without thinking about the outcome.

What drives you to be at the Top of your Game? What are your success strategies?

Most important is to create a product / service with heart and soul and keep creating. It’s a continuous process. If you don’t keep re-inventing, you will be left behind. Try and understand what your client wants don’t presume. Follow timelines, never over commit. Have all your legal documentation and paperwork in place.

Have you dealt with failure? If so, how did you overcome it and resurge when all the chips were down?

Oh yes, failure is the biggest teacher!!! One should never stop looking at it as a failure. Learn from it and no matter how upsetting or frustrating it is. Re-strategize and bounce back. Try to identify what went wrong. Seek help from professionals if need be, and change your approach.

It is important for us to recognize the power of men in supporting women. Is there a man who has played an instrumental role in your personal growth and success? Who are they and how did they influence you?

I’ m sure every girl would say her DAD. Even though I’ve taken some bold hasty decisions against his wishes and wisdom, my Dad took charge to bear the brunt of those decisions. He has stood by me like a solid rock and supported my dreams and aspirations. Dad has been a pillar and guides me with his immense knowledge in legal and financial matters.

My SON – I sometimes wonder who the parent is. He is an old soul with wisdom of the Universe. When I didn’t believe in myself, he was the only one who believed in me. He pushed me to go for spiritual, business retreats to discover myself. He always questioned me when I had excuses for not doing things that I believe in or for not standing up for myself to a point where I had to accept those excuses were nothing but my fears. He has also been as he says my ‘lab rat’ for all tea and Tea based skin care experiments.

My HUSBAND – who ever since he realized I’ve worked hard enough to create something that people believe in, is being as supportive, involved and encouraging as can be.

Which 3 Indian women have inspired you in your life and why?

I can’t limit it to that number, at every stage there have been a list of women, who with varying qualities have been an inspiration. Starting right from my family, my inspiration has been my MOM. Strong, stylish highly intelligent, accomplished and yet extremely sincere and giving woman and so are her sisters. Sincerity, honesty, creativity and family values I think have just got it from them in inheritance.

My FRIEND, Thejaswini Unni extremely successful in her field who we fondly call TJ. Again it’s her empathetic nature, her love her sincerity – she’s an achiever and an unconditional giver. She has inspired me in many ways.

My SISTER, who is the quintessential critic who pushes me to my limits to see the spade as a spade, and supports me in her own Maa Kali ways.

Which causes related to Women would you like to support?

One cause I would strongly like to support for women is teaching them to love and respect themselves for being them. It’s not about competing with men, it’s not about being the perfect daughter/ daughter-in-law/ mother / Professional/ perfect body / socialite. Just be YOU and your path will unfurl.

3 tips to Women to be successful in life.

– Believe in yourself

– Prioritize your goals and go after them with all your strength. Stop making excuses when it comes to you.

– Take care of your health, emotional and physical. We all tend to neglect ourselves. When you are healthy, you can do for others.
